SpoonOS concludes Skills Micro Challenge, awards top submissions with GAS token prizes

SpoonOS has concluded its Skills Micro Challenge, recognizing 10 submissions for excellence and awarding a broader participation reward to the rest of the field. The Top 10 will each receive US $150 in Neo X $GAS tokens, while all other participants will receive an Excellence Reward of $20 in $GAS tokens per GitHub ID.

The challenge centered on AI Skills, which are modular capabilities that extend an agent’s capabilities beyond conversation, from analyzing files and monitoring on-chain data to detecting risks and generating structured outputs. For developers building on SpoonOS, Skills turn an AI model into a more useful tool for security, automation, and decision support.

SpoonOS reviewed each submission across ten criteria: practicality, technical complexity, innovation, security and compliance, testing quality, risk level, integration ease, efficiency, maintainability, and ecosystem impact.

The 10 winning Skills covered security, gas optimization, development workflows, and operational tooling:

PR #123: k8s-manifest-security-auditor

  • A static security analysis Skill for Kubernetes YAML manifests that detects privileged mode, host configuration risks, and missing resource limits.

PR #120: Gas Optimizer

  • A cross-chain gas monitoring and fee comparison Skill designed to reduce transaction costs, including batch optimization examples such as Multicall.

PR #25: SmartContractAuditor

  • A smart contract review Skill pulling from Sourcify, 4byte.directory, Blockscout, and GoPlus Security to assess code, ABI issues, and security risks across EVM chains.

PR #24: DeFiSafetyShield

  • A DeFi monitoring Skill focused on asset and wallet safety, covering honeypot detection, phishing address identification, approval checks, and protocol risk scoring.

PR #1: security-audit skill

  • An auditing assistant built with a large vulnerability case database and security tooling to search known issues and generate proof-of-concept exploits and reports.

PR #4: gas-optimization skill

  • A gas analysis Skill covering fee prediction, estimation support, blob quote estimation, and optimization reporting for Web3 developers.

PR #9: secret-guard skill from ETHpanda

  • A pre-commit secret scanning Skill for staged files that identifies exposed credentials such as API keys before code is committed.

PR #5: log-triage skill

  • A log analysis Skill that identifies common error patterns across multiple languages and environments, then surfaces likely root causes and suggested fixes.

PR #107: Security Vulnerability Scanner

  • A Python-focused security scanner that checks for OWASP Top 10 issues, performs CVSS scoring, reviews CVEs, and generates an SBOM with remediation guidance.

PR #32: Skill CI Checklist

  • A CI/CD validation Skill that checks whether required files, sections, and YAML fields are present and correctly configured.

SpoonOS will contact winners via direct message on its official X account to collect Neo X wallet addresses for reward distribution. Recipients must have a valid X account linked to their GitHub profile and direct messages open. The deadline for submitting wallet addresses is March 23.

The team also warned that it will only reach out through its official X account.
