Chad Partners With Xange

Ekaterina Bogatyreva

The Republic of Chad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Xange.com, a company developing digital infrastructure for environmental markets, to support the country’s participation in international carbon markets under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.

As part of the agreement, Xange.com will deploy its digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (dMRV) system along with its Unified Environmental Market Infrastructure Solutions (UEMIS). These tools will help Chad collect and verify environmental data, manage carbon market programs, and convert verified emissions reductions into internationally tradable environmental assets.

The project also includes the use of the Aptos blockchain, a high-performance Layer 1 network. Verified environmental data will be recorded through Immutable Metadata Digital Certifications (IMDCs), creating a permanent and auditable record of each mitigation outcome.

The national dMRV platform will provide real-time monitoring of environmental conditions across Chad, including wildfire and extreme weather alerts. At the same time, the UEMIS platform will manage the full lifecycle of carbon market programs, from project registration to settlement, through a national environmental asset registry.
