BIT Mining Limited (NYSE: BTCM) announced plans to change its name to SOLAI Limited (NYSE: SLAI) as part of a strategic shift toward the Solana blockchain network. The rebrand reflects the company’s move away from cryptocurrency mining toward building blockchain infrastructure, decentralized finance applications, and smart contract solutions.
The new name, SOLAI, links to the Solana ecosystem and highlights the company’s focus on high-performance blockchain technology and artificial intelligence integration. The rebrand follows recent steps taken by the company to expand its presence in Solana, including the launch of a validator node and staking of SOL tokens. These actions are part of a broader $300 million strategy to support Solana’s growth and decentralization.
The board of directors has approved a proposal to change the company’s English name to SOLAI Limited, subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting (EGM). The EGM is scheduled for October 9, 2025, in Akron, Ohio. Shareholders of record as of August 25, 2025, will be eligible to vote. Holders of American Depositary Shares must vote through Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas, the depositary for the company’s ADS program.
